OEMLAC recently announced the launch of the Community of Practice on Methane (COEMLAC), a regional multi-stakeholder network aimed at technical capacity-building, cooperation, and the exchange of solutions to address the challenge of methane emissions in the energy sector.<\/p>\n

COEMLAC serves as a pioneering platform to promote dialogue, share experiences, and coordinate actions among governments, companies, academia, associations, international organizations, and civil society, with an emphasis on the oil and gas sector.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

\u201cCOEMLAC seeks to develop solutions based on collective knowledge. It is a technical, collaborative, and strategic forum for advancing transparency and methane mitigation in our region.\u201d<\/b><\/i><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

Strategic regional partners have joined this new initiative, including the Global Methane Hub (GMH), the Development Bank of Latin America and the Caribbean (CAF), the Association of Oil, Gas, and Renewable Energy Companies of Latin America and the Caribbean (ARPEL), the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), the Clean Air Task Force (CATF), the International Energy Agency (IEA), the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), the Climate and Clean Air Coalition (CCAC), and the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), all of which are leading various advocacy efforts and providing support to the public and private sectors in Latin America and the Caribbean.<\/p>\n
